Why Do We Care About an ESS?

ESS or Employee Satisfaction Surveys are an annual anonymous survey that our crew takes here at Captain's Marine.
It consists of 35 work related questions that you can rate on a scale from 1 to 5, 1 being Strongly Disagree, and 5 being Strongly Agree, as well as 3 "essay" questions at the end. 

This survey is a requirement for our annual MRAA 5 Star Certification.
Although we would still do it even if it weren't required, because it's an incredibly valuable tool in learning about our people.

This year we thought it would be fun to share some of the comments we received in one of the essay question boxes at the end of the survey.
