As of November 2nd 2017, about 37.8 million Kidde fire extinguishers were recalled. The malfunction occurs when operating the extinguisher, some units become clogged and require blunt force which has left many helpless in emergency situations. 391 reports have been documented, and one found to be fatal. A person died in a car accident when the responders couldn't get the recalled Kidde extinguisher to operate smoothly.
